Some days, the length of my daughter’s screen time can trigger mum guilt. Controlling the duration she is on her iPad is always a daily challenge, because it’s met with resistance!
Times are so different to when we were young. We easily kept ourselves entertained without devices. Our children, however, live in the digital age and they’re growing up surrounded by screens.
While technology does offer education and entertainment, it’s also important for parents to ensure healthy screen time habits for their kids.
Why Screen Time Matters
Having too much screen time has been linked to various issues such as sleep disturbances, reduced physical activity, and potential negative impacts on mental health and academic performance.
Mum’s Screen Time Contract
To help me strike the right balance with my daughter, I created a little printable that I use and love.
Not only does it help me monitor the amount of time she is on her device, but it also teaches her about balance and responsibility.
If you’d like to try it out with your daughter, you can download it for free below.
